Miquel what’s your backstory?
I founded Ucademy.com when I was 20 years old—a company I helped grow to around €5M in annual revenue. I was studying Data Science at the time but left in my fourth year to build Ucademy. During that period, I also moved to Madrid.
What does GetInvoice do, and how did you come up with the idea?
GetInvoice automates invoice extraction and processing. It's a pain we had when we were building Ucademy and growing very fast and something we did not find in the market. So, when I left Ucademy, I decided to start building it.

How did you acquire your first 20 users, and what strategies worked?
The first users came through SEO, as well as organic posts on Reddit and LinkedIn outreach.
What metrics or feedback confirmed GetInvoice reached product-market fit?
Basically, converting users to paid plans. We launched a really simple but working product, and then kept improving it based on user feedback.

Which distribution channels have worked best for reaching your audience, and how did you discover them?
At first, we invested heavily in SEO, which worked well, but we did too much too fast, and Google penalized us for automated content. Currently, we're mainly investing in paid acquisition.
If you could only have one distribution channel moving forward, which would it be and why?
We would probably choose paid ads because they allow for fast and predictable acquisition, and the predictable part is very important. Although, paid ads are expensive when compared to other channels like SEO.

Who are your closest competitors?
Closest competitors are Dext and Getmyinvoices.
What makes GetInvoice stand out from other invoice management tools?
Our product is incredibly easy to use and set up—it doesn’t even feel like an accounting-related tool. Plus, it works very reliably, which is something other solutions often don’t deliver.
What percentage of your users are on the free plan, and why did you decide to offer one?
Our free plan is more of a freemium, with very low limits. It’s really just something we offer to let people get a first taste of the product. It’s not truly usable for a company, since it only allows processing 10 invoices per month.
How successful has your affiliate program been? How do you attract and manage partners?
Currently, it hasn’t brought in any customers yet. We're not actively marketing it—just showcasing it on the website.
How do you see AI shaping invoice management, and how will GetInvoice adapt?
I think the best opportunity is not related directly to invoice management, but more to be able to build a better product and service with fewer resources, and that's what we're taking advantage of.
How have integrations contributed to GetInvoice’s growth? Any surprising ones that had a big impact?
The main one is the Google Drive integration, to which invoices are sent automatically when processed. This is the one that most users use. While integrations with accounting software have been necessary for our product functionality, they haven't directly contributed to our growth.
What are your plans for GetInvoice in the future?
Our goal is to keep building the company because we see lots of opportunities still ahead.
What’s it like running GetInvoice as a solopreneur?
Most of the time, it’s very hard—and every day comes with thoughts of quitting. But experience teaches you to keep going, so you just learn to ignore the daily noise.
What specific tools, software, or resources have been essential in growing GetInvoice?
We love using Cursor for coding. Also, the Microsoft for Startups program has lowered the barrier for us—it’s allowed us to use expensive models at a fraction of the cost.
Who are some top experts or entrepreneurs to follow for business growth advice?
I mainly prefer reading over following people on social media. My all-time favorite—not just for business, but also for personal growth—is Charlie Munger.
Any quotes you live by?
"Rules are for infants, incompetents, incarcerated criminals, and imbeciles — none of whom should have any place in the Erie family."

What advice would you give founders looking to find the right channels to attract users?
If your resources are limited, you should choose one channel and focus on making it work.
What drives you to do what you do?
The freedom it gives you to live how you want.
